In this tutorial, we will learn how to 3D model an L-Gusset and what the rollback bar is. First, we need to start a sketch on the top plane and make the shape shown to the right. Define the length as shown and use the equal constraint.
The next step is to put down 5 holes. Make sure when placing them down, put 2 of the holes verticaly contrained below the midpoint of the top, 2 of the holes horizontally constrained to the right of the far left midpoint and one between both midpoints. Define the diameter of one holes as 0.25" and use the equal constraint to make them all the same.
To space the holes appropriately, use construction lines with the "q" key on your keyboard and then using a line to connect the center point of each adjacent circle. Define one of the construction lines as 1" and use the equal constraint to make them all the same.
Select the extrude feature and select the sketch. Ensure that its only extruding the plate, not the holes. Use a blind extrusion with a depth of 1/8". Finally, click the green checkmark to finish the extrusion.
In the next tutorial, we will learn about starting sketches on faces of parts. If you have any questions about the tutorial, you can reach out to us at contact@meatecs.com
